As the core accessory of the heating link in industrial production, electric heating tubes are commonly used in various major industries. When selecting various electric heating tubes, customers often have this question: Are electric heating tubes easy to break when operated at low power for a long time?
First of all, the electric heating tube is divided into the following two situations when working at low power:
1. The rated power of the electric heating tube is low. For example, when an electric heating tube with a rated voltage and power of 220V and 50W is connected to 220V, the power used is 50W;
2. The power used by the electric heating tube is lower than the rated power. For example, if an electric heating tube with a rated voltage and power of 380V and 600W is connected to a voltage of 110V, its power usage will be 50W.
In the above two cases, both are used at low power of 50W. The difference is that in the first example, the product is originally designed for low power. Electric heating tubes are used at rated voltage, as long as the heating tube is within a reasonable design range. Inside, it is not easily damaged if it is not a human error. However, if there is a problem with the product design (the size is too small, the material is not selected correctly, etc.), the material itself cannot withstand the power of 50W, and the service life will also be reduced.
The second example is that the product itself is designed with a high rated power, but the actual power becomes lower after using a low voltage power supply. The reason for this is: the resistance value of each electric heating tube is fixed after it is made, and the relationship between its power (W), voltage (E), and resistance (R) is:
W=E*E/R
Therefore, reducing the operating voltage will directly affect the product power. When using low power, the unit load that the product material has to bear is also reduced accordingly. This will not only cause damage to the heating tube, but can extend the service life.
In summary, under normal design, the electric heating tube is not easily damaged by long-term low-power operation.
